Free clothing, all in good condition, is available for those currently facing difficult times. Thrift shops sell gently used clothing and furniture for very reasonable prices and, in the win-win situation, the profit goes to the parent human services organization. Following are free clothing outlets and thrift shops on the lower and outer cape.Free Clothing:Katy’s Kornerprovides gently used clothing for all ages for qualified clients. It is located at the Lower Cape Outreach Council’s main office in Orleans. The Family Pantry Boutiqueis also a source of gently used clothing for men, women and children located in the same building as the food pantry. Family Services & Food Share, Mass Appealhas a free clothing shop in Wellfleet and Provincetown, sponsored by the Committee Against Domestic Abuse. Special Program:Bayberry Quilters of Cape Codhas a Quilt Bank Outreach at the Harwich Community Center which makes quilts for disaster victims, seriously ill children, and anyone in need. I am a small person with several pairs of jeans, a barely worn sweatshirt, sweaters, socks, turtlenecks and more. I am also a full time worker and it’s hard to get these items to you during your open hours.
Are you open on Veteran’s Day. I could drop them off then. If not, I’ll just have to leave work early some day.
