Transportation


The Lower and Outer Cape region transportation is provided by the Cape Cod Regional Transportation authority, a private bus line (P&B), by Councils on Ageing (COAs) and by non-profit agencies such as FISH for medical transportation and Nauset Neighbors for seniors.

H2O Line

 

CCRTA provides daily bus service, Monday through Friday, beginning at 5:45 a.m. to 8:20 p.m., and Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 8:20 p.m. from downtown Hyannis at the Hyannis Transportation Center to the Stop & Shop complex in Orleans.

 

The H2O Line travels to the Cape Cod Hospital and along Route 28 to the Stop & Stop and Star Market in Yarmouth, the Dennis Shopping Area, the Stop & Shop and Patriot Square in Dennis, the Harwich Chamber of Commerce, through Chatham, to the CVS in Orleans and Stop & Shop.

 

Passengers may board the H2O Line at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the bus down anywhere along the bus route. The H2O Line connects with the Flex bus at Stop & Shop Orleans, Skaket Corners Orleans, Underground Plaza Orleans and Star Market in Harwich. The H2O Line connects at the Hyannis Transportation Center with the SeaLine, the Barnstable Villager, and the P&B/Bonanzabus service to Boston/Providence.

Flex Bus

 

 

CCRTA provides daily bus service, Monday through Saturday, beginning 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. from Star Market in Harwich to Stop & Shop in Provincetown and beginning at 7:00 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. from Stop & Shop in Provincetown to Star Market in Harwich.
The Flex picks up and drops off passengers at designated stops and also flexes off its route up to ¾ of a mile to serve people who have difficulty getting to a regular bus stop. Reservations are required for the off route stops.

 

The Flex travels from Route 28 in Harwich, Over Queen Anne to Route 137, to Brewster on Route 6A, down Route 6 through the towns of Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, and Truro to Provincetown.

 

Passengers may board the Flex at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the bus down anywhere along the bus route except along Route 6. The Flex bus connects with the H2O Line at Stop & Shop Orleans, Skaket Corners Orleans, Underground Plaza Orleans and Star Market in Harwich, and in the summer the Provincetown/ North Truro Shuttle at Highland Road, Truro and Stop & Shop. Flex also connects with the Plymouth & Brockton bus service to Boston; at CVS Orleans, Eastham Town Hall, Farrell’s Market, Wellfleet, Jam’s Store, Truro, Highland Road @ 6A Truro, and MacMillan Pier, Provincetown.

 

B Bus/Dial A Ride Transportation (DART)

 

 

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority provides a daily general public demand response service called b-bus/Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) that is a door-to-door, ride by appointment transportation service.

 

This service is available to all Cape Cod residents and visitors for any purpose.  Travel reservations can be made anytime between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday by dialing the CCRTA Call Center, toll free at (800) 352-7155.  Weekday reservations must be made by 5:00 p.m. two working days (or 48-hours) before you intend to travel.  Same day changes and reservations are not permitted.  Reservations for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (also Tuesday if Monday is a holiday) must be made by 5:00 p.m. the Friday before you intend to travel.
b-bus/DART service is available Monday through Friday in all 15 Cape towns from 7:00am to 7:00pm, on Saturdays from 9:00am to 7:00pm, and on Sundays 9:00am to 1:00pm in most towns. The b-bus/DART does not run on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Patriots’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

 

BHT Boston Hospital Transportation

 

 

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority provides safe, wheelchair accessible, medical  transportation from Cape Cod direct to Boston Hospitals. CCRTA provides services on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays by reservation to 15 Boston area hospitals. The BHT has bus stops in Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans, Harwich, Barnstable Commuter Lot and the Sagamore Commuter Lot.
