Today’s Internet landscape involves growing and increasing networking, connectivity and collaboration. The Lower and Outer Cape Outreach Clearinghouse and Blog is a “Web 2.0″ site where users are encouraged and expected to participate, compared with traditional websites where they merely view information and only the site owner can modify it.

It is hoped this site will facilitate communication among the human services agencies and programs in the eight-town area through information sharing and collaboration, and thereby more effectively deliver outreach services. In addition, both the volunteer and the client community can use it as a resource for their needs and interests.

Among the possibilities we envision for this site:

Secure private communication among the agencies.

Each agency may have access to its own page on the site that it can update at will.

Each page of listings of services has a comments field in which any additions and corrections can be suggested.

News & Events pages can be updated on a timely basis that may include current fundraisers.

A blog about issues affecting or important or interesting to the outreach community will be ongoing.

There can be a page specifically for volunteer comments.

There can be page specifically for client comments.

Whatever else appears useful or interesting…

Please comment with thoughts and suggestions.
